LA County is Hiring Training & Development Specialist / Instructional Designer

Los Angeles Superior Court is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to fill the position of Training & Development Specialist / Instructional Designer (official classification title: Staff Development Specialist) and contribute new and creative ideas for developing and delivering innovative training tools to the Court’s 4,500 full-time employees.

SALARY:   $4,989.45 – $6,723.55 Monthly    $59,873.40 – $80,682.60 Annually

Opening for ACT Secretary


Pursuant to article VI of the ACT’s bylaw,The officers shall be elected biannually by a majority of active members and hold office for two calendar years or until a successor is chosen.”  We would like to encourage you to apply for the ACT Secretary position.

Article VI, Section 3, explains the duties of a Secretary as follows: 

  • The secretary shall be ex-officio member of the standing committees
  • Keep minutes of the Association
  • Have charge of all records pertaining to the Association
  • The secretary shall develop, with input from the president, agendas for each meeting
  • Distribute both the agendas and minutes to A.C.T. members and affiliated associations

This will be a short election so we can have someone in place by May 5, 2017.

(REQUEST) Different spellings of the same party?

QUESTION:   In a Civil answer, how does your court reconcile different spellings of the same party? For example, under attorney the name appears as John A. Doe and in the first paragraph the name is just John Doe and the signature line it may be either or.

(REQUEST) Proposition 63 Firearms: Ammunition Sales – Implementation

QUESTION:   It appears that the portion of the proposition 63 that has court impact does not go into effect until January 2018, however, some aspects aren’t real clear from the text on the implementation piece.  If you have any information, would you be willing to share?

CCA invites ACT Trainers

Greeting ACT members!

The California Court Association (CCA) would like to invite an ACT trainer to provide training on two classes:

(1)  Introduction/Overview of Family Law (3 hours)
(2)  Introduction/Overview of Domestic Violence (3 hours).

The first training is scheduled for October 21, 2017 in Anderson, California and the second class will be in 2018, in southern California, location to be determined. Both the travel expenses and compensation will be offered to the trainer.

Please contact me if you already have both classes developed and would like to be considered as the trainer for both classes.
